Hello Lovers!
Valentine's Day is a holiday that some people hate on but I for one, love it! I love the colors, I love the decorations, the candy, flowers, an excuse to be my super cheesy self! I love it so much I figured why not do a little blog post about it?
Let me start with a little story, so our first wedding anniversary was last year and it fell during a really tough time which basically caused me to forget about it. The first year is the paper year and what does my amazing hubby do? He gets me tickets to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter AND the cutest Hogwarts Acceptance letter from Etsy. Obviously I cried, because Harry Potter. I also cried because I felt bad that life had gotten in the way and I failed by neglecting to get him a gift. That was in June. I have been planning my redemption ever since. I found an amazing shop on Etsy called Lettered Pages, here is the link in case you are interested, I highly recommend them! (https://www.etsy.com/shop/LetteredPages) They took our wedding vows and turned them into art with custom calligraphy. Needless to say I am obsessed and my husband couldn't have been more surprise! So now they hang on with side of our beds to remind us of that special day and the promises we made.
Plus who doesn't love Michaels and Target? I mean dollar bin for the win this year with all those cute banners! It really doesn't take a lot of money or time to add a little something special for Valentines. It's easier and quieter than a crowded restaurant.
Since the Day of Love fell on a Tuesday this year we decided to stay in and make a yummy meal, another excuse for me to get crafty! I had a background in visual merchandising and I used to work at Pottery barn so table settings are a no brainer for me. In true fashion my guy didn't disappoint and I got the cutest little Fuji Instax mini, another awesome camera to add to the family!
Hope you guys enjoyed the day with the people you love most and my little peek into our DIY day.
